Fourteen year old Jason Shephard (Frankie Muniz dounya) is a noted and habitual liar. And an unsuccessful liar at that. When he forgets to complete his English homework the story of his father being rushed to hospital after choaking on a swedish meatball carries no weight with the teacher and so in desperation he writes the story of the “Big Fat Liar”. In his haste to deliver his homework he collides with the limosine of Hollywood film producer Marty Wolf (Paul Giamatti). Fearing a law suit Wolf drives Jason to school. During the trip Jason’s story drops un noticed from his school bag. After dropping Jason off Wolf finds and reads the story which he realises is a pontential movie blockbuster.
When Jason finds out that Wolf intends taking credit for the story he sets out with best friend Kaylee (Amanda Bynes) and a gradually increasing list of Wolf’s abused ex-employees to bring about a full and public downfall and confession.
Big Fat Liar is a great little film with some genuinely hilarious moments that audiences of all ages will love. No bad language or images.
High point: Blue dye in Wolf’s swimming pool, orange dye in shampoo and super glue on his mobile phone – ah, if only I could deal with people that way.
